Embedding a Canva Resource into a Schoology Page

Educators can create a resource in Canva and then embedded it directly into a Schoology Page or assignment directions. Please note that this resource is for viewing purposes only. It will not create a copy of the template for students. If you want students to be able to interact with the resource, please click this link to follow the directions for this: SAU19 Knowledge Base - Canva - Schoology Integration. To embed a Canva resource, please follow these directions:

1. Log into your Schoology account and then click into your Schoology Course.

2. Click on Add Materials.

3. Click on Add Page or Add Assignment

4. In the rich text editor box, click on Insert content.

5. Choose Canva for Education from the right side of the drop-down menu.

6. When Canva launches, click on the resource you want to embed and click Embed into page.

This will embed the resource into the rich text editor field of the Page or the description box of the Assignment.

7. Title your Page or Assignment, add any other information you need to add.

8. The file will embed into your Schoology link as a page that students need to click on to view. If you want it to Display Inline where it will show the file without the need for clicking (Secondary View), then click the ABC icon.

9. Click Create.

Your embedded resource will now be visible in your Schoology Course.

If you click on the resource, it will be viewable automatically, without having to click on a link or an uploaded file.

Please Note: You must change the sharing permissions on the file itself in Schoology for parents to be able to view the embedded document. You can do this by:

1. Open the design you are embedding in Canva.

2. Click Share in the upper right-hand corner.

3. In the Access Levels section, click the drop-down menu and select, Anyone with link.

4. Then click the drop-down menu to the right of Access Levels and select Can View.
