SAU #19 Educators at BES, MAES, and NBCS can manage BrainPOP/BrainPOP Jr. assignments in the BrainPOP Dashboard. Here they can view, edit, unassign, delete, track, and provide feedback on assignments. To management BrainPOP/BrainPOP Jr. assignments, please follow these directions:
View Assignments
1. Log into Schoology (https://sau19.schoology.com) and click into a Schoology Course.
2. Click on the BrainPOP button on the left sidebar.
3. Click Dashboard at the top of the screen.
You’ll find the assignments you created for your current class.
4. Click the Classes drop-down menu to toggle between multiple classes.
5. Click on an assignment title to view the assignment details.
Track the Progress of Assignments
1. Click an assignment’s title or View Progress to track the progress of an assignment.
You’ll see a table listing students’ names and information regarding the status of their progress.
2. If your assignment has multiple parts, you’ll see them listed in a column on the left. Click a specific part to view your class’s progress on it.
Edit Assignments
1. Log into Schoology (https://sau19.schoology.com) and click into a Schoology Course.
2. Click on the BrainPOP button on the left sidebar.
3. Click Dashboard at the top of the screen.
You’ll find the assignments you created for your current class.
4. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the assignment box and click Edit.
5. When you click the Edit button, you will be brought to the Assignment Builder pages where you can edit any of the assignment details.
6. If you need to edit the activities included in the assignment, click Edit Learning Activities.
7. After you have edited the assignment, click Update.
Yor assignment will now reflect the changes you made.
Duplicate Assignments
1. Log into Schoology (https://sau19.schoology.com) and click into a Schoology Course.
2. Click on the BrainPOP button on the left sidebar.
3. Click Dashboard at the top of the screen.
You’ll find the assignments you created for your current class.
4. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the assignment box and click Duplicate.
This will bring you to the Assignment Builder screens where you can change any information on the assignment. Use the Next arrows to navigate through the Assignment Builder pages and then click Assign to assign the duplicate assignment.
Delete Assignments
1. Log into Schoology (https://sau19.schoology.com) and click into a Schoology Course.
2. Click on the BrainPOP button on the left sidebar.
3. Click Dashboard at the top of the screen.
You’ll find the assignments you created for your current class.
4. Click on the 3 vertical dots in the assignment box and click Delete.
5. You will receive a pop-up message asking if you are ready to delete the assignment. Click Delete Assignment.
Your assignment will now be removed from the Dashboard.
Unassign Assignment
You can unassign an assignment from specific students. This will remove the assignment from the Assignments tab in the student Dashboard.
1. Log into Schoology (https://sau19.schoology.com) and click into a Schoology Course.
2. Click on the BrainPOP button on the left sidebar.
3. Click Dashboard at the top of the screen.
4. Click the three dots next to the assignment you want to unassign and click Edit.
5. Click on the Select Students tab and uncheck the names of any students you want to unassign it for. You will see a note warning you that it will no longer be visible by the student(s) that you unchecked (unless they have already submitted their work). Click Next.
6. Click Update on the Assign tab.
Any students who have had the assignment unassigned from them will no longer see it in the Assignments tab of their Dashboard. Any results from students that were previously submitted to you as part of the assignment will remain visible to you when viewing work for your class. Those will now appear as free submissions.
Viewing Free Submits
Free Submits are any assignments completed by students on their own and submitted to your class.If you are trying to locate work that a student has submitted that isn't appearing in your Assignments view, we recommend checking Free Submits to track down any work that may have been completed a different way.
