Hardwiring Your Laptop to the Promethean Board

Educators can connect their laptop directly to the Promethean Board to display and interact with content. To hardwire your laptop, please follow these instructions:

Connect the Touch Cable (Optional)
1. To enable touch functionality, plug the USB touch cable into the Touch port on either the OPS/PC box located on the side of the board or the Touch port on the bottom panel of the Promethean Board. Connect the USB end of the cable to an available USB port on your laptop.
Please Note: If you do not need touch functionality, you may skip this step.

Connect the HDMI Cable
2. Plug the HDMI cable into an available HDMI port on either the OPS/PC box or the bottom panel of the Promethean Board. Connect the other end of the cable to the HDMI port on your laptop.

Select the Correct Input Source

3. After connecting the HDMI cable, select the appropriate input source on the Promethean Board:

  • If the cable is connected to the HDMI In port on the OPS/PC box, select HDMI In as the input source.
  • If the cable is connected to a different HDMI port on the board, select the corresponding HDMI input to display your laptop screen.

Once connected, your laptop screen should appear on the Promethean Board, allowing you to present and interact with content as needed.
