How to Utilize Your Free, Basic Account

To use your free, basic account, please follow the directions below or visit this link for a presentation on utilizing we will write: WeWillWrite Teacher Deck - Google Slides. Please Note: Teachers can utilize the free, basic accounts. The district will not support or purchase premium accounts. 


2. Click Log in.

3. Enter your Email address and click Continue.

4. Enter your Password and click Login.

You will now be logged in and see the main landing page.

Discover: You can explore ready-made prompts under the Discover tab. Once you choose a challenge to use with students, you can change the median time, eliminate challenges, change the order of content, and find tips. The Classroom Simulator feature allows you to experience the challenge yourself in both the student and teacher view. 

Find: You can explore topics, genres, or grade-level materials using the Find tab.

My sets: If you have saved or created sets, then you will find them under the My sets tab. To create a set of your own, click Create set

You can add up to 6 challenges per set. Click Add Challenge to add a challenge to the set.

Select a challenge to add or create one of your own. Enter any information it prompts you for.

Once selected, it will show the challenge on your screen. You can continue to add up to 6 challenges. Then Save your set.

Teachers should post the link to join games in their Schoology Course ahead of time: https://join.wewillwrite.com/.


Teacher insights: Use Teacher insights to see student writing from previous sets (premium feature).


Student Responses
When you are ready to have student play a set, click the Start button.

Select the class you want to join the set and then click Confirm.

Students will click the link in their Schoology Course and enter the pin shown on your screen to play the game. Students will need to enter their first name and ONLY the first 2 initials of their last name and then click Join. It will automatically create student teams. Once at least 3 students have joined, the game can begin.
      


Teachers can go back and view student responses, winners on each team, and overall winners. They can also see if any students were withdrawn from the activity.
