CK‑12 offers free instructional resources across subjects such as Math, Science, Social Studies, Photography, and more. These materials integrate seamlessly with Schoology. When students complete CK‑12 assignments within their Schoology course, teachers can view scores and detailed reports directly in Schoology. To assign CK-12 activities in Schoology, please follow these directions:
1. Click Add Materials and select CK-12 App from the right side of the drop-down menu.
You will see a message reminding you to go back and enable grading once you assign an activity. Grades 5+ should complete this step regardless of the Gradebook they use so the program can share the information on scores with the teacher through Schoology. Teachers in Grades 7+ can then sync the grades to PowerTeacher Pro. Click OK to close the message.
2. Click on a subject from the left side bar.
3. Navigate to a resource you want to assign. You can select from FlexBooks (textbook activities, FlexLets (lessons that teach essential concepts), PLIX (Play, Learn, Interact, eXplore interactive lessons), or Adaptive Practice (interactive lessons that adaptive to the students' individual abilities).
4. Click Assign or Create Assignment.
The resources will be added directly into the Schoology Course.
Please Note: If you are a Grade 1-8 teacher, you will need to move the activity into the Coursework/Resource folder.
5. Click the gear icon to the right of the activity and select Edit from the drop-down menu.
6. Check the Enable Grading box, add a Category, add a Due Date, and click Save Changes.
Please Note: If you are a Schoology grade syncing teacher (Grades 7+) and you do not want grades to sync to PowerTeacher Pro, uncheck the Sync to SIS box.
Please Note: Students must remember to click the Turn in Button in Schoology when they complete the activity.
