How to Cite a Database Image or Media

When using media such as images or videos from a database in a project, essay, research, or other school materials, you will need to cite it. To do this, please follow these instructions:

Citing World Book Online Media
1. Open the World Book Online media you used for your work.

2. The location of the citation will depend on the database you used and how you navigated to the image. If the image had icons in a text box next to it, click on the quotation marks icon to view the citations.

If the image is located on the side of an article, click on the image.

Next, click on the menu arrow in the lower right-hand corner.

Then, click on the Cite button.

3. After following either of the methods listed in step 2, highlight the citation listed under MLA and copy it by right-clicking on it and select Copy or press and hold the Ctrl key while pressing the C key at the same time.

4. Paste the citation into the Works Cited section of your assignment by right-clicking on where you need to place the citation and select Paste or press and hold the Ctrl key while pressing the V at the same time.
