Exporting Bookmarks and Passwords from FireFox

    SAU #19 Educators can export their Firefox Bookmarks to an HTML file and their username and passwords to a CSV file to be able to import them onto another device by following these steps:

    Export Bookmarks
    1. Click the menu button  to open the menu panel. 

    2. Click Bookmarks and then click the Manage Bookmarks bar at the bottom.

       


    3. From the toolbar on the Library window, click the Import and Backup button.

    4. Click Export Bookmarks to HTML… from the drop-down menu.

    5. In the Export Bookmarks File window that opens, choose a location to save the file, which is named bookmarks by default. Click the Save button. 

    6. The Export Bookmarks File window will close. Close the Library window.

    Your bookmarks file will now be saved in the location you chose.

    Export usernames and Passwords
    1. Click the menu button to open the menu panel.

    2. Click Passwords. The Firefox password page will open in a new tab.

    3. Click the menu icon (three dots), then click Export Passwords…

    4. A dialog box will appear to remind you that passwords are saved as readable text. Click Continue with export to continue.


    5. Choose the file name and location where this exported data will be saved and click Save.
