Links Not Connecting

Why Links Are Giving a 'Refused to Connect' Error

When adding links into a Course you have two options for how they display, inside of Schoology or in a new window. It will automatically default to opening inside of Schoology. Some links will open within Schoology with no errors, however some links will have to be set to open in a new window. Please read the following directions on how to correct the 'refused to connect' error.

Refused to Connect Error

If you add a link to Schoology, the default will be to open in the Schoology iFrame (window). Links that do not have the capability of opening in an iFrame will display this error:
There are two ways to correct this error:
1. Click on the Expand Text icon (square with an arrow pointing up and to the right).
2. Edit the link to open in a new window.

Clicking the Expand Text Icon

1. Click on the Expand Text icon in the upper left-hand corner of this error screen.
You will receive a 'Redirect Notice' but then the link will open in a new window.

Edit the Link to Open in a New Window

5. Click on 'Save Changes'.
When the link is clicked on it will display a 'Redirect Notice' but then the link will open in a new window.
