Collected Only Assignment
1. Log into Schoology and go into the Course you want to create a Collected Only Assignment in.
2. Click Add Materials and select Add Assignment.
3. Add a Title and Description and then check the box for Collected (indicating you will only be marking the assignment as Collected but not scoring it. Ignore the points field and then select the Category.
4. Add a Due Date (customize for each Section, if desired - for linked Courses). Click the word bubble icon to disable commenting. Then click Create.
5. Important Step: If you want to be able to use the Missing Exception Flag with Collected Only Assignments, you will need to disable it from counting in the grade. If you do not disable this, any assignments marked with the Missing flag will calculate a score of 0% in Schoology (unless this setting was disabled in your Schoology Gradebook for all assignments at the beginning of the year). When the grade syncs to PowerTeacher Pro, it will only sync the Collected flag, without the 0%, due to the intended nature of this type of assignment, causing a grade discrepancy in both gradebooks.
To disable it from counting in the final grade (since it is not worth any points), click the paper icon to display Count in Grade Disabled. Then click Create.
You have now created a Collected Only Assignment.
6. When you are ready to grade the assignment, go into the Schoology Gradebook and hover over the grade cell for the student you want to mark as Collected and click the flag icon.
7. Select Collected from the pop-up menu.
The assignment will now be marked as Collected. No score will be able to be entered.

4. Once you are ready to grade the assignment, enter a score into the grade cell for that student. The Collected Exception Code will automatically be removed.
