Importing Materials from Resources into a Course

Best practice for adding materials into Schoology is to add from 'Resources'. Instructors can import materials they saved to Personal or Group Resources from within a Schoology Course. Please follow these instructions to do this:

1. While in the Schoology Course, click 'Add Materials' and select 'Import from Resources'.

2. Check the box next to the material or materials you want to import and then click 'Import'.

Your materials will now import into your Schoology Course. This may take a few minutes depends on the size of the files you are importing. If your Courses are linked in Schoology, then they materials will be available for all sections.
3. Repeat for any Courses you want to import materials into.

You can also import a resource into multiple Courses at once by following these directions:
1. Click on 'Resources' in the top navigation menu.
2. Search for the resource you want to add.
3. Click the gear to the right of the resource and select 'Add to Course' from the drop-down menu.

4. Check the box next to all the Courses you want to add the resource to and be sure to select what folder to place the resource in so it remains organized, otherwise it will be placed at the bottom of your main Schoology Course page. All elementary and MVMS teachers should be selecting Coursework/Resources and then any necessary subfolders within.
5. Click 'Add'.

You can also import multiple resource into a Course at once by following these directions:
1. Click on 'Resources' in the top navigation menu.
2. Search for the resources you want to add.
3. Check the box next to all folders and/or resources you want to add to a Course. Then click 'Edit' and select Add to Course' from the drop-down menu.
4. Click on the Course you want to add it to (you can only choose one Course).
5. Click 'Import'.
Please Note: Adding multiple resources at once does not give you the option to add it to a specific folder; therefore, it will place it on the main Schoology Course page. You will need to move it into the correct folder once it has been copied into the Course.

To then copy these Resources into other classes, please follow these directions:
1. Click into the Schoology Course that you want to copy Resources from.
2. Search for the resource you want to copy.
3. Click the gear to the right of the resource and select 'Copy to Course' from the drop-down menu.
5. Click 'Copy'.
6. Repeat for all resources you want to add to other Courses.
