Savvas Realize - Difficulty Accessing Account

Savvas can be very dependent on the browser used and the privacy settings on your device. If you are having difficulty accessing your Savvas account, please try to correct try these setting changes:


The first thing  to try is accessing Savvas from Schoology using a different browser. If not, you will need to enable some cookie settings and/or pop-up website settings. To do this, please follow the directions for the browser you are using. If your browser is not one of supported browser listed, you will need to locate and change the cookies permissions and pop-up exceptions on the browser you are using, similar to what is outlined below.


You can also try clicking on the 'Savvas Realize' button to open the Savvas Realize website in a new window. All the security and privacy settings will need to be adjusted to make this work.

Firefox:

1. Open Firefox. 
2. On a Mac, Click on 'Firefox' from the top navigation menu and then select 'Preferences'. On a PC, click the gear and then select 'Manage more settings'.

3. Click on 'Privacy & Security' from the left side bar.
4. Scroll until you see 'Cookies and Site Data' and then click on 'Manage Exceptions...". 
5. Enter the following websites one-by-one into the 'Address of website' field and click on 'Allow'. Once all websites are added, click on 'Save Changes'.
6. Go back to the 'Privacy & Security' page and scroll down until you see 'Block pop-up windows' and click on 'Exceptions'.
7. Enter the following websites one-by-one into the 'Address of website' field and click on 'Allow'. Once all websites are added, click on 'Save Changes'.
8.  Go back to the 'Privacy & Security' page and scroll down until you see 'Warn you when websites try to install add-ons' and click on 'Exceptions'.
9. Enter the following websites one-by-one into the 'Address of website' field and click on 'Allow'. Once all websites are added, click on 'Save Changes'.



Microsoft Edge:

1. Open Microsoft Edge. 
2. On a Mac, Click on 'Microsoft Edge' from the top navigation menu and then select 'Preferences'. On a PC, click the three dots next to your profile image and then select 'Settings'.

3. Click on 'Cookies and Site Permissions' from the left side bar.
4. Under 'Cookies and data stored', click on 'Manage and delete cookies and site data'.
5. Under 'Allow', click on 'Add'.
6. Enter the following websites one-by-one into the 'Site' field and click on 'Add'. 
7. Go back to the 'Cookies and Site Permissions' page and scroll down until you see 'Pop-ups and redirects' and click on it.
8. Click 'Add'.
9. Enter the following websites one-by-one into the 'Site' field and click on 'Add'. 


Try access fully logging out of your browser. Then log back in and try accessing your Savvas content again.

iPad:

In some cases, the user may report that it looks like they're successfully downloading the eText on their iPad device, but when they go to access it for offline use in Safari, the app/browser asks for an internet connection to access the content. The user may need to adjust their app/browser settings, and turn the Automatically Save Offline toggle on. You may also need to turn off the Pop-Up blockers for Savvas and clear your history and cookies.


To Enable the Pop-ups for Savvas and Clear History and Website Data:

1. Go into your iPad settings and click on 'Safari'.

2. Scroll until you see 'Block Pop-ups' and toggle that to OFF. Turn this setting back ON once you are done using Savvas.

3. Scroll down until you see 'Clear History and Website Data' and click it.

You should now be able to access the Savvas materials on your iPad.


Safari 12.x versions required browser setting
For 12.x versions of Safari, the default browser setting "Prevent cross-site tracking." will need to be set to disabled This issue is specific to Safari 12.x versions only. Alternatively, if you are able to update the device to Safari 13.x the Readers are expected to load without needing to disable the option.


To disable the Safari browser "Prevent cross-site tracking" setting:

1. Go into your iPad settings and click on 'Safari'.

2. Scroll down to your Reading List section and toggle ON the 'Automatically Save Offline' setting.
