Your Promethean Board includes a variety of controls, tools, and menu icons. Refer to the information below to learn about their functions and how to use them.
Promethean Board Buttons and Tools:
Promethean Board Panel
The appearance of the menu panel may vary depending on your Promethean Board model. The images below show two examples of boards currently used throughout SAU 19.
Interactive Pen
There are several types of interactive pens available for use with your Promethean Board. The pens shown below are two common examples. Many third-party styluses are also compatible with the board.
Remote Control
The appearance of the remote control may vary by Promethean Board model; however, the button icons remain consistent across all models.
Power Button
The location of the Power button may vary depending on your Promethean Board model. Press it once to turn the board on. To power it off, press the button twice.
Menu Button
The location of the Menu button may vary depending on the model Promethean Board you have. This button will allow you to view all apps, settings, and system controls.
Source Input Button
Depending on the model of Promethean Board you have, the Source Input button may be located in a different place. Select the screen-and-arrow icon to choose the appropriate input source.
Volume Buttons
The location of the Volume buttons may vary depending on the model Promethean Board you have. Click the minus (-) button to decrease the volume and the plus (+) button to increase it.
Screen Freeze
Click the snowflake icon to temporarily freeze the projected screen. Click it again to resume normal display.
Promethean Board Unified Menu:
The way you access the Unified Menu varies by Promethean Board model. Some models display it as a circular menu, while others require you to pull up on the arrow icon to access it.
Back Arrow Icon
Use this arrow to navigate back to the previous screen.
Locker Icon
Use this icon to access other applications, files, and settings.
Home Icon
Use this icon to bring you back to the Home screen.
Whiteboard Icon
Use this icon to open the interactive whiteboard, where you can write, draw, annotate, and interact with lesson content.
Capture Icon
Use this icon to take a screenshot of the content you are displaying. The screenshot can then be opened in the interactive whiteboard, where it can be edited, annotated, or incorporated into lesson materials.
Annotate Icon
Select the Annotate icon to access annotation tools that allow you to draw, highlight, write, and interact with content displayed on the screen.
Timer Icon
Select this icon to access timing tools, including a timer, stopwatch, and clock, for managing classroom activities and displaying time.
Spinner Icon
Select this icon to randomly choose individuals, groups, topics, or activities, making it a useful tool for classroom games, group assignments, and lesson transitions.
