How to Host or Join a Live Translated Conversation

Microsoft Translator supports real-time translated conversations across devices, for one-on-one chats and for larger group interactions. To host or join a live translated conversation, please follow the directions below. Host a conversation:
1. Open the Microsoft Translator app and start a conversation.

2. Share the conversation code with other participants, who can join using the Translator app or website.

3. Speak or type to communicate in your own language. Your messages will be translated into recipient’s chosen language.

Join a Conversation:
1. Open the Microsoft Translator app and start a conversation.

2. Enter the Conversation code provided to you, your username, your language. and the Speech recognition region and then click Join conversation.

3. Speak or type to communicate in your own language. Your messages will be translated into recipient’s chosen language.

Offline Text Translation:

Download offline language packs to translate text even when you're offline.

Translate the text in photos with the app's built-in camera viewer, or upload saved photos from your gallery.


Translate text in photos while offline:

Download offline language packs and use the camera feature to translate street signs and menus while traveling abroad.
