1. Click on the Math and You button on the left side bar of a Schoology Course.
2. Access a learning path by clicking PLAN in the Courses Menu. To access the assessment to edit, select the desired chapter within the Learning Path and then select the assessment to customize.
3. Once an assessment has been selected, the teacher will click the 3-dots to the right of the assessment name and click Copy and Edit.
4. This will notify you that the assessment was copied and you are editing that copy of the assessment. Click OK
5. When the Copy of the assessment automatically opens, edit the Assessment Properties including the Assessment Name, Assessment Description, Subject, Strand, Grade, and Keywords.
6. Click the Assessment Content tab and view, add, rearrange, and/or remove items from the assessment.
Viewing Assessment Items:
Click the drop-down arrow next to a question to view it.
Adding Items to an Assessment:
Click ADD Item. Then you can search for items either by Standards or Course, Chapter and Lesson.
Searching by Standards:
Click the State Standards circle. Check the Standards and Grade level. If it is incorrect, select a new Grade from the drop-down menu. Click LOAD STANDARDS.
Check the standards desired to search for questions. Then click SEARCH.
Searching by Course, Chapter and Lesson
Click the Course, Chapter and Lesson circle. Select the Chapter and Lesson you want to add items from. Then click Search.
Similar to Previewing and Editing the existing assessment, the Question bank allows you to expand, view, and check the questions to be added to the assessments. Multiple questions can be selected at one time by checking all the boxes next to the questions you want to add. You can adjust the search by selecting MORE FILTERS, to narrow down items by Grade, difficulty level, and other characteristics. Once you have checked all items to add to the Assessment, click Add Item.
Rearranging Items in an Assessment:
Hover over the array of 8 dots to the left of an Assessment item that you want to move. Then click and drag it to the desired placement in the Assessment.
Removing Items from an Assessment:
Click the X icon to the right of an Assessment item to delete it from the Assessment.
A message will appear asking if you are sure you want to remove the item. Click YES.
7. After adding and removing questions, Click the Set Score and Properties tab.
8. Customize the Properties and Global Scoring Rules.
You can click SAVE & PREVIEW at any point to save and view any changes you have made.
9. Once all edits are made, click SAVE AS DRAFT to save the customized assessment as a draft (a draft cannot be assigned) or SAVE & PUBLISH to save the assessment in a form that makes it available to assign. Students won't be able to see the assessment unless it is assigned. When the assessment is saved, it will appear within the PLAN view below the original assessment that it was copied from.
